Completed: Chapter 8 of OTG
Now that Chapter 8 of Ode to Gallantry is finished, I have begun to get a better insight into Ding Dang's personality, details of which I had forgotten since I last read the novel a few years ago. I won't go into the details at the moment, but I hope that readers will try to read between the lines and see things from Ding Dang's perspective as she is one of the main characters of the story.

| Yu Shi.. great story so far! I never expected OTG to be such an enjoyable read! I wonder if there is any good tv series adaptation for this novel. Ding Ding Dang Dang is one of Jin Yong's most colorful female characters, I think. She has been around for few chapters yet I couldn't guess whether she is the main female protagonist. Sigh.. She definitely has Gu Long's blood in her. And Ye Kai would certainly find her name familiar heh =D I really want to ask you if Ding Dang will change the way Yin Su Su did but I guess it will be too much of spoiler huh? |

| Phoenix Chix: Thanks for dropping by. I'm glad you are enjoying OTG. It's one of the more special stories by Jin Yong, but it has always been eclipsed by Eagle-Shooting Heroes (LOCH), Divine Eagle Gallant Knight (ROCH) and other popular works. The best TV adaptation that I've seen for this novel comes from China, c. 2002. As far as I know, it has probably disappeared from the shelves in South-East Asia since around 2004, so I'm not sure if you can still find/purchase it elsewhere. Do you really -- and I mean really -- want to know whether Ding Dang would change? You're right, it's going to be too much of a spoiler ... even if the answer was emailed to you. :-D |

| LOL now that you put it this way, I guess I have to be patient then. I just couldn't bear seeing Ding Dang reuniting with the real Shi PoTian ( I take the liberty to assume that he is the missing Shi Zhongyu) and become the antagonists. Indeed it is one of the more special stories by Jin Yong. Somewhat the style is different. The conversation is sometimes very Gu Long, as you said it. Never had my curiosity been triggered in such a way upon reading Jin Yong's novel. I would love to read your article on the adaptation and fingers crossed, I could find the series. I have grown tired of watching different kind of LOCH or ROCH adaptations. |
