Second edition changes

Young Flying Fox was written in 1960 for a magazine called Wuxia and History.  In the 1970s, it was revised.

According to the epilogue to the 2nd edition, the revision of Young Flying Fox was meant to smoothen the flow of the story and remove the unnecessary junctures that Jin Yong had used when the story was first published as a serialised work.

Two prominent changes were:

(a) In the original edition, Yuan Ziyi left Luo Bing's white horse to Hu Fei at the end of the story, but in the revised one, Yuan Ziyi rode off on the horse into the west. (Luo Bing is a character from the Book and the Sword who makes a cameo appearance towards the end of Young Flying Fox).

(b) Yuan Ziyi's father, Feng Tiannan, was called Feng Renying in the first edition.
