Introduction
Written in 1966, this 40-chapter work can be divided into 8 volumes of 5 chapters each. The conclusion was written by Qiao Qi on Gu Long's behalf.
Synopsis
The Sword and the Exquisiteness chronicles the adventures of Yu Peiyu in a martial arts world that is filled with danger and deceit. The leaders of various clans are being killed off and replaced with look-alikes. What is the conspiracy behind this? Yu Peiyu finds out...
Dramatis Personae
Besides being a prolific writer, Gu Long was also known for his ability to populate his works with many colourful characters. Athena provides us with a list of the key personalities in The Sword and the Exquisiteness.
Translator's Epilogue
When I first finished the novel in October 2002, I could not deal with the unsatisfying ending written by Qiao Qi. Gu Long and Qiao Qi stopped [the story] when Yu Peiyu walked away when Ji Beiqing died. I felt unsatisfied and wrote an epilogue -- Athena.
